First Degree Fitness has developed Fluid Technology to create Variable Fluid Resistance
to allow fingertip control of adjustment from "Feather light" to "Olympic sprint".
This patented Fluid Technology is at the heart of every piece of First Degree Fitness
equipment, delivering silky smooth resistance to the user's effort and instantaneous
response to input with no 'flat spots'.
Apply the effort and the correct resistance is there instantly - every time.
Only Fluid Technology can do this.

Neptune Rower
The Neptune Rower by First Degree Fitness applies water resistance to move the rower
category from a secondary fitness appliance to a primary low impact, whole body workout
that emulates the fun of rowing at home or in a club or wellness environment. We put the
fun back in fitness by tightening the connection between an event (rowing) and its preparation.
Water resistance is the most accurate manner in which to simulate actual outdoor rowing
as it provides a smooth and consistent sensation throughout the range of motion of the
exercise. One simultaneously and rhythmically works the upper torso and back with lower
back, abdomen, upper and lower leg muscles while getting a great cardio and calorie burn.
The natural, soothing sound of the rushing water is an added benefit and contributes to a
relaxing, comforting workout experience. With our rowers, you not only get the best whole
body workout in one easy to use solution, you actually get to enjoy rowing for all its fun
and challenges the closest thing to actually being there. That sustains participation which
most other solutions fail to do. As a result indoor rowing has caught on and is a new growth
exercise category.

Rowing Technique - It's easy to learn
Good rowing technique is easy to learn, and it is wise to take the time to do this in
order to get the most from your workout without placing undue stress on muscles
and joints. There are elements of the rowing cycle that a majority of people find
counter-intuitive, and this means that those who have not been correctly taught tend
to row with poor technique. But the good news is that once this is taught, the brain learns
these movements in a matter of a few minutes, and what was counter-intuitive then
becomes the complete reverse.
The goal is to achieve a smooth and repetitive cyclic motion, not one that is harsh and jerky.
We break this down by depicting six positions within the cycle and analysing the
movement phases between these. It's important to only move those body parts
required between each position.
