Everyone
who wants to be fit needs to consider some type of weight training. Cardio
work just isn’t enough for true fitness. To truly be
healthy and strong, you need to build and maintain lean muscle
mass, and the only way to do that is to work and build the muscles,
as you do while using dumbbells. Dumbbells are the quintessential
weight training equipment: simple to use, easy to store, incredibly
flexible and adaptable to many exercises, and extremely effective.
No personal gym is complete without at least a few dumbbells. Dumbbells
are, perhaps, the most widely applicable of all exercise equipment. You
can work just about every muscle in the body with dumbbells and
no other equipment, if you have the mind to. Also, because dumbbells
are free weights and not mechanized systems, you can’t cheat
on lifts by overcompensating with a dominant hand or muscle. Whether
you are looking to sculpt the chest with a bench press, work the
shoulders with a military press, or exercise the legs with squats,
dumbbells can provide that extra weight you need. There are
even exercises for the abdominal and back muscles that require
dumbbells. If you are looking to get the most results from
the least amount of equipment – and money spent – nothing
can match dumbbells. Every home gym should include a set
of dumbbells, and cannot be seen as complete without them.
